JTT State Tournament
The JTT State Tournament will be at Old Fort Park the last weekend of July in 2012. Teams only have to play 3 JTT matches (win or lose) during our Summer season to qualify for the State Tournament. The JTT State Tournament has divisions for intermediate and advanced level teams.
State Tournament Teams need to be comprised as follows:
8 Under--3-4 players, any gender
10 Under through 18 Under--6 to 8 players with at least 3 boys and 3 girls.
The JTT State Tournament isn't a "one and done" tournament. Your players will get a lot of playing time, even if they don't when their matches. If your players win matches at the JTT State Tournament, they will earn "points" that will contribute to their USTA ranking.
Other Information
What should the players wear?
Players need to wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes.
What do the players need to bring to the matches?
Balls are furnished for the JTT matches. Players may want to bring their own balls to warm up with before the matches start. Players need to bring a racket, drink, and snack if they will need one.
What kind of racket do the players need?
8 Under and 10 Under players need to use a 19 to 25 inch racket.
12 Under through 18 Under players need to use adult sized rackets.
If your player is a beginner, I recommend buying an inexpensive racket at Dick's, Target, or Walmart. If your player develops a love for tennis, you will want to "move up" in racket and purchase a more expensive racket for them then.
What else is different about 8 Under and 10 Under Tennis?
A LOT! 8 Under and 10 Under Tennis uses a simpler scoring method, different balls, and smaller courts. For more information about 8 Under and 10 Under Tennis, go to:

If your player is a beginner, we use games and activities to introduce tennis skills in a fun way. As the players are ready, we work with them on playing points and then matches.
